Candy Cane BBQ Sauce
Makes approximately 2 ½ cups
What you need:
- ½ cup ginger ale
- ½ cup crushed candy canes, about 6–7 regular size
- 1 tsp fresh grated ginger
- 2 cups BBQ sauce, something a little sweet and smoky
- 2–3 tbsp cinnamon schnapps
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Make it Super:
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the ginger ale and crushed candy canes.
Stir until candy canes dissolve into the ginger ale. Add the fresh ginger and stir in the bbq sauce and bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the cinnamon schnapps and cider vinegar. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Let cool.
Store in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
